The Impact of Panda 4.1 on Website SEO.
How will Panda 4.1 affect my website SEO?
With the most recent Update to Panda, and the looming update to Penguin, many business owners want to know how Panda 4.1 will affect SEO and visibility. If you’re a small to mid-sized website producing original content (like we are), it seems like you’re in luck. According to Search Engine Land, the Panda 4.1 update gives more weight to high-quality content sites and has new algorithms that detect low-quality content and rank it accordingly.
Four months after the Panda 4.0 update, sites that were adversely affected now have a chance to redeem themselves with any positive changes they may have made. This is a relatively small update (only affecting 3-5% of queries) but if you’re a small, content producing website, any bump helps.
Some specific industries that were affected include news, content sites, download portals, games, lyrics and some medical portals. As always, search engine relevancy is going to boost your ranking, but the advantage of the update seems to benefit websites that have good content but not enough link juice to show up on the first page. Google has always liked sites with a lot of user-friendly relevant content (to either search or site itself) , and this update underscores that emphasis.
“Google’s end goal is to provide the searcher with the ‘data of everything’ delivered with the discerning character of your BFF.”
