  • Enhanced security

Project Description:

Lido’s original websites were hard-coded HTML sites with minimal imagery, hard to read fonts, and a design that had no relation to their brand. Neither site was optimized for mobile devices and there was no CMS for site admins to easily manage content. The user would first arrive at a landing page that would then offer them a choice of which of the two sites to visit. This is not optimal for SEO or usability and user experience. We went through an initial definition process with the clients to identify any changes or improvements to site structure and functionality.

We used a responsive theme and customized it visually to improve their branding. The word “Lido” means “shore” and also refers to a reef that protects Venice, Italy from the waves. We settled on an ocean/beach theme to reinforce this concept.

The WordPress CMS allows the website manager to easily update most of the site content, including the homepage slider imagery and text.

Every page has a new unique design and we added new functionality including a blog for the Advisors site and events for the Consulting site. We enabled Gzip compression to speed site-loading times and enabled a plugin that secures email addresses from spambots.

Results:

The site administrator has the ability to update both sites easily on the fly. Overall, the two sites are much more user-friendly now they are separated. The websites can take advantage of mobile responsive features. For their target and existing high-net-worth clientele, the new websites present an upscale look-and-feel and more intuitive navigation.
